Kevin:

Thanks for commenting and tagging me, Kevin.

Rushmore gets better every time I see it. It's just a incredibly strong film: writing, direction, acting, and of course, that wonderful Anderson design.

I adored Tenenbaums when I first saw it, but I don't think it holds up as well alongside Anderson's other films. It's thoroughly "Anderson-ian," perhaps his most straightforward film is some ways, but it just doesn't dazzle me emotionally anymore. I think there's a character bloat factor that the script doesn't handle as well as in Anderson's other work.

On the other hand, against all expectations, I kind of fell in love with Darjeeling. I need to see it again, but I think I would rank it my second favorite behind Rushmore. So for me it goes:

Rushmore
The Darjeeling Limited
Bottle Rocket
The Royal Tenenbaums

Never did see The Life Aquatic.

Great stuff Andrew. I'm glad you participated. This was one meme I had no real problem doing.

I almost put Seth Brundle on my list. If ever a horror film could be called poignant, than "The Fly" would be it, and it's mostly due to Brundle and the way Goldblum portrays him.

It's funny, I used to think that "Rushmore" was the least satisfying of Wes Anderson's films. Then "The Darjeeling Limited" came out and I had to re-evaluate how what I thought of the director's resume. Looking at it now, I can see that "Rushmore" does indeed stand as the director's best film (with "The Royal Tennanbaum's a very close second) and the character of Max Fischer, if you can endure him, is one of the main reasons.

Great list.
