[...] Andrew Wyatt has what I feel is a dead-on appraisal of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland at his ‘Gateway Cinephiles’ home. It’s a fabulous capsule review:                                            http://gatewaycinephiles.com/2010/03/09/uffish-but-not-frumious/ [...]

"Happily, Alice in Wonderland, while hardly the rich, cerebral adaptation that Carroll’s works deserve, proves to be a solid little adventure tale that traipses through a deliciously gratifying Burton-esque landscape."

Indeed Andrew. I am precisely where you are with this film! No, it's no PEE WEE'S GREAT ADVENTURE, but there's an often splendid and sublime visual design, and another wonderful Danny Elfman score to enjoy. I did not see it in 3D, but I doubt there would have been a major upgrade in opinion. There are some creativ eissues here in the rather disjointed narrative flow, but this was no failure at all.
